SBY to lead the UN peacekeeping forces consisting of 650 officers from 29 countries. He is charged with overseeing the ceasefire in the former Yugoslavia based district Dayton agreement, the U.S., between Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. SBY assignment at the beginning of the mission to be the cornerstone of his good relationship with Kofi Annan, the then UN Secretary-General appointed.
